UK meets carbon emissions target

February 2014

Secretary of State Ed Davey announced that the UK has met its first carbon budget; the first step in meeting the goal of cutting UK emissions by 80% to 2050. This actually follows an increase in emissions from 2011 to 2012, attributed to the increased use of coal as a generation fuel due to the higher cost of gas, and to higher domestic demand in the harsh winter of 2012.

A regular client of ours recently purchased 4 new office buildings with large water supplies. Using our knowledge of water suppliers optional tariffs we were able to quickly recommend the optimum tariffs with an estimated annual saving of £930 / year, something the previous owner neglected to do. This single saving more than covers the cost of our fixed fees, and so long as the supplies remain on the service we will continue to ensure they are on the cheapest possible rates.
