Natural gas & electricity prices remain steady; brent crude falls

November 2012

The wholesale price of Brent crude oil has seen further falls this week and is currently trading at a 4-month low of just below $106 per barrel. There was some concern about that the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy hitting ground on the US eastern seaboard, the resulting downtime of the New York stock exchange and the unexpected snowfall around the UK last week would see prices rise, but this has not transpired.

Still on a steady trend are the wholesale prices of natural gas and electricity, which both continue to experience small movements without gaining or losing any real ground, and are trending fractionally above and below the long-term trend line respectively.
