Energy Prices Continue to Plummet
Monday, 08 December 2008 00:00

Oil has continued it’s slide to it’s lowest level since 2004 at $40 per barrel, dragging gas and electricity prices on downwards.

The wholesale price for gas at 1.72 p/kWh is back to the level it was in January 2008 (having reached a peak of 3.5 p/kWh in July) and electricty has fallen to an average of 4.98 p/kWh (down from it’s July peak of 9 p/kWh).  Good news at last for customers who were forced to procure energy in the peak months.
